My First Hairsine

Last year, Valiant began sort of courting me. Every few months I would do samples over various artists, on books they were anticipating needing my help. I actually didn't have time for most of the projects but wanted to stay in touch and show them what I could do. At the time I was working solely as a penciler and didn't want to return to inking unless it was with Valiant. 

When I was asked to ink a sample over Trevor I was stoked. I had no time for the project but I did have time for the sample. Trevor is up there with the best. The masterful touch he brings with his use of the pencil as a powerful tool is not matched by many. He's not afraid of the side of the pencil, he understands all the fundamentals, and his sense of style and design is beautiful and subtle. It very much reminded me of inking guys like Silvestri, Broussard, Whilce and finch. Very energetic.

Mostly Raphael Brush. Y'know. The usual suspects of tools.
